"Since I can remember I have been fascinated by the rich color and pattern found in profusion in our everyday world. My pieces play upon those patterns obvious and those overlooked and underappreciated.
Taking advantage of the rich color and luminosity working with glass on copper provides me, it is my hope that my work inspires people to view enamels from a fresh perspective and gain a renewed appreciation
for this disappearing art form." KSE
Karen Seymour-Ells graduated from Northern Illinois University with degrees in both painting and metalsmithing. She has shown her award winning enamels at fine art shows through out the Midwest for 20 years. Her work is collected by individuals, celebrities and appears in corporate collections.
She currently lives and maintains her own studio in Northern Illinois. Beside raising her two children and working on pieces she uses to support local charities Karen maintains an active show schedule, has lectured at various arts organizations and exhibits in a number of shops and galleries through out the Midwest.
